Be Prepared Period - Healthy Communities Challenge DayWhat’s not to love about a challenge, especially a healthy one? We enjoy hearing about various challenges, that is why when we heard of Marysville’s annual Healthy Communities Challenge Day we immediately joined in!

Every year Marysville hosts a community event filled with interactive activities, fitness demos, and live entertainment focusing on fitness, nutrition and healthy lifestyles. This year, we were thrilled to be included in the fun!

A big part of our mission at www.bepreparedperiod.com is to educate girls and women on healthier feminine hygiene product options. Many are not aware of organic/natural options or eco-friendly menstrual cups, products that can truly help women achieve a Better Period. So this opportunity or “challenge” to help educate families on healthy options was right up our alley!

And thanks to our awesome friends at Instead Softcup & Maxim Hygiene, we were able to add another layer of fun…prizes (goodie bags)!!!

After participants spun our trivia wheel (directed by the inspiration of Be Prepared Period) or guessed which tampon was made from organic vs conventional materials they would receive a goodie bag filled with samples and informative brochures. Trivia Wheel - Tampon Test

It was exciting to see that even though 90% of our visitors weren’t familiar with alternative options, 70+% were willing to make the switch/try a new/healthier type of product. (And what better way to try new products than to receive FREE samples!)

In addition to our fun activities we also held a giveaway for one of our stores newest additions, The Summer Sampler. A kit that contains 6 products from 3 different brands. (Another great way to try multiple products without investing in a full box of something with the fear of not liking it.) Congratulations to our winner, Danielle!
