I think you have the basics covered here – the information booklet (perhaps expanded to a book? I remember reading several books about periods and puberty in general when I was in fifth grade. That summer, I got my period for the first time, and was completely unphased by it, since I had read up about it beforehand!) is definitely the most important part. π
