What motivated you to add tea to the Be Prepared Period Shop? Why tea?

I am a tea lover, my absolute favorite being chai. The experience of drinking tea- the world’s most popular beverage besides water, is unlike anything else. Sipping on the hot, flavorful liquid can for a short while be an escape, or a way to envision positivity. Tea means not only relaxation and indulgence, but also community. We get together with friends for a cup of tea, have high tea with delicious accompaniments or finish a nourishing family meal with our favorite cup. I want women to have this experience, and balance their hormones at the same time. There is no reason why balancing hormones, health or happiness should be negative and/or extremely difficult. Using a tasty, nourishing herbal blend will not only balance health but also connect that with the pleasant experience of drinking tea. You’ll WANT to make this a part of your life, rather than feeling you HAVE to.

How can women decide which tea is right for them?

While the names are pretty self-explanatory, the teas are helpful beyond basic menstrual cramps and hot flashes. If you have other pain, or bothersome PMS symptoms, then Cramp Tea is your best bet. If you are going through menopause, and have noticed other symptoms like low libido, vaginal dryness and low mood, Hot Flash Tea is for you. Hot Flash Tea can also be used for other uncomfortable temperatures, like night sweats or hot flashes associated with stress, panic and possibly heart problems.

How can tea help with period symptoms?

The teas are specially blended with organic/wild crafted medicinal herbs, all of which have been used for thousands of years in balancing the female system. These herbs contain many different properties, including volatile oils, vitamins and minerals. We formulated the specific herbs in each tea with our friend and partner, The Hormone Diva (a holistic nutritionist) to be extremely effective for it’s namesake symptom. These herbs gently work on many organs of the body, including our uterus, ovaries, liver, bowels and kidneys. The herbs are also balancing to the brain and nervous system- and an inflamed brain often leads to hormonal imbalances. Over time you will notice not only a reduction in cramps or hot flashes, but a reduction of your hormonal symptoms in their entirety, including low moods and libido, irregular or heavy periods and the like.

What if you are not a big tea drinker. Are there any tips for making tea taste better?

Absolutely! Find a brewing method that you like. Some women prefer to make iced tea, as they aren’t big on the taste/experience of drinking hot beverages. You can also sweeten the mix with liquid stevia, raw honey, agave or maple syrup. If there are certain herbs or teas that you LIKE the taste of, feel free to mix them in. Sometimes I like to make my Cramp Tea with green tea, for example, to get extra nutrients and a bit of a taste change. You can also use the brewed tea as a base for things like smoothies, where you won’t even notice the taste. Add in some squeezed lemon, lime or orange juice to hot or iced tea. You could also add some sprigs of mint, some cucumber slices or berries to flavor the mix if you’re doing iced tea. These teas were blended with YOU in mind- to already be insanely tasty. But, make it your own and add what you like to motivate you to drink the tea regularly.

What are women saying about Cramp Tea?

This tea works wonders!

“I am 30 and ever since puberty, the first 1-2 days of my period were absolutely unbearable. I would literally stay in the bathroom for hours on end in excruciating pain from cramps and terrible nausea and vomiting. Anything I tried to eat would eventually come right back up. I also had hot and cold sweats and light headedness. When my symptoms finally subsided, usually 6-8 hours later, I would be completely exhausted and dehydrated. Due to the severity of my periods, I would have to leave school, work, or any activity I was doing as I obviously couldn’t be in public going through this. I know no woman likes getting her period, but I actually feared mine every single month! I decided to start taking birth control pills, at the recommendation of my doctor. The birth control helped my pain quite a bit, but I did not like the other side effects that came with it. After a year on the pill, I got fed up with these side effects and quit taking them. I decided to go ahead and try this tea, it was worth try. After a couple days of drinking this everyday, my menstrual cramps were minimal. I was in absolute shock! I did not have any vomiting or hot and cold sweats either! I can now get through my day when I start my period without having to suffer the terrible pain and vomiting that I endured for so many years before. I have been telling all my friends and family about this and plan on mentioning to my doctor as well so they can tell other women who suffer from difficult menstruation about this product and hope that they spread the word to give it a try! I recommend this tea to any woman who is suffering from the symptoms I had before I found this product.” – Georgina

Perfect for easing muscle pain and PMS tension

“I love cramp bark. As someone who is always preferring a natural remedy over something over-the-counter, cramp bark has proven invaluable to me over the past two years. I use it to manage tension in my muscles, and of course to alleviate cramps during my period. It is a powerful herb. I was thrilled to find this organic cramp bark tea blend, and to see that it contained the uterus-loving herb, red raspberry leaf. This is a beautiful blend of loose tea, in composition, aesthetics, taste and scent. Big chunks of cramp bark amid fresh dried leaves and bright yellow chamomile flowers make it a lovely tea to look at. The chamomile and raspberry leaf dominate the scent, and the ginger plays nicely with the other ingredients to make a lovely, delicate taste. This is a very pleasant tea to drink, comforting and gentle, and perfect for those times when you need to be gentle with yourself. I’m really enjoying it. Just like every time I’ve used cramp bark, I can feel my smooth muscles relaxing and releasing. This is a great tea for not only period cramps, but for tension release and tension headaches also. I particularly notice it in my shoulders. I’m very pleased with this product and look forward to keeping a steady supply in my pantry. It would make a wonderful gift for yourself, a friend, or a young lady who may be in need of a little support and pampering” – Kimberly P.

Happy to Finally Try This

“I’d heard about cramp bark years ago while trying to find natural ways to relieve my debilitating menstrual cramps. Unfortunately, I was never able to find any place local that sold cramp bark for me to try. Over time, I let the idea of trying it out fall by the wayside until just recently when I was given the opportunity to receive Be Prepared’s PMS Tea in exchange for an honest review. I brewed myself a cup and was immediately in love with the aroma and the taste. Tea can be hit or miss sometimes, but this one is definitely a hit. I am using it now as a preventative measure before my period, which is what is amazing about this product. It can be used two different ways. Included with the tea was instructions on how to brew it for either immediate cramp relief or for prevention of cramps that haven’t even begun. Anything to help alleviate or ward off my cramps is a winner in my book! ” – Kristin D.

Miracle in tea form!

“As a woman in my 20s with 3 kids and a c section, my periods get super awful. Between cramps, heavy period, nausea, and pain around my c section scar due to bloating, I just wanna curl up in a bawl and cry. I’ve been searching for months to find SOME relief. I’ve tried heating pads, gels, menstrual pills with no help, until now. This tea has done wonders! It comes packaged in a cute little tin that keeps it fresh and includes a loose tea container so you are able to enjoy right away. It has a very warming, inviting smell to it, so I’m not gagging trying to drink. After one drink I noticed my cramps less, bloating wasn’t as bad, my nausea was gone. I felt so much better! My kids and my boyfriend have enjoyed me much more and I’ve actually been able to enjoy and have fun with them. This tea has turned my hormonal nightmare into “just another day” – Destiny Campbell

Very Good Tea

“It came at a perfect time as it was that time of the month and I was in some seriously uncomfortable pain. Whenever I get my cycle my leg starts cramping first, then the stomach pain and then it just shows up. My leg was cramping at the time of my making this tea and the pain went away after about thirty minutes of drinking, which is amazing! The flavor is excellent, a mixture of herbs and fruit. I am not that large on tea but I can comfortably drink this and actually stand it. I didn’t see the need to add sugar, but I suppose you could if sugary tea is your thing. I highly recommend this tea to anyone with cramping issues during that time of the month. It works wonders and the flavor is very good. On a scale of 0-5 I give this tea a 4.7.” – Chocolate Addict

Helps with PMS and Menstrual Cramps

“I’m thrilled to tell you about this PMS Cramp Bark Tea for Menstrual Cramps; it’s a tea that is specially blended for that “time of the month. My daughter Kayla usually has an awful time with her period so she was eager to try the Be Prepared PMS Tea for Menstrual Cramps. It’s important to us that it’s all natural with no drugs, added caffeine, preservatives, artificial flavors or other chemicals. The tea was easy to fix and it was nice to be able to adjust the strength depending of the severity of symptoms. It did help drastically with the pain Kayla was experiencing during her period. It also helped improve her mood and gave her more energy.” – Julie Smart

It helped my severe cramps

“I was definitely leery about whether or not this tea would be effective at all for my severe cramps. I struggle with pain relievers most times and I don’t like taking them either. I gave this tea a try a few times while I had very bad cramps. The tea tasted good- it wasn’t the most delicious tea I’ve had, but I was impressed by the taste. As far as the effectiveness on my cramps, I have to say it definitely did relieve my cramps after drinking it. I noticed that they went away for the most part. It did not relieve them 100% but I have very severe cramps. I noticed that it only seemed to relieve them for about an hour or so after drinking the tea. So I would have to drink another cup for more relief after about an hour or so (also depending on the severity of the cramps). The tea comes in a very cute little tin with detailed instructions. Overall I am quite pleased with this tea. Like I said, I struggle with pain relievers and since it takes so many to relieve my pain, I was very grateful to find that this tea helps just as much. It is definitely a more natural and safe alternative to pain relievers and helps relieve cramps.” – Michelle

Great for relaxation of Mind and Body during a time of need

” Being a person who has endured 2 natural child birth (a 6 lb and a 12 lb) with no drugs, i NEVER thought that PMS cramping or anything would get to me. I mean, I am GREAT with pain, i live in the house with all boys and animals right. But I think the older you get , the worse it gets. I recently got my IUD taken out, and have been feeling like I am in a boxing fight for the past 2 weeks. I even had to take time off of work because the cramping and bloating was so unbearable. So I would try Anything. At first I thought, yeah some magic tea.. yeah right, and i have some magic beans too. but NO. The PMS Tea, Cramp Bark Tea for Menstrual Cramps by Be Prepared was actually a magic tea. In a few minutes of taking it, I felt more relaxed. Not just my body and the aches and pains, but mentally as well. As the day went on, I was able to do somethings and the next day, while drinking a cup in the morning was even able to go to work.” – Patricia Watson
