My Period Came: A First Period Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I first got my period, I was 13 years old. I was sitting on my front porch with a close girl friend of mine and we were listening to music together, just hanging out. To be honest, I didn&#8217;t actually feel my period come. I noticed that it had arrived when I went to the washroom and yes, it had soaked right through my fashionable skin tight jean shorts that were light denim in color with pink roses painted on them. I felt completely humiliated and embarrassed and I<!--more--> wasn&#8217;t even sure if my friend would have noticed. I was relieved that my period had come when I was at home and not at school. I was also relieved that I was only around one friend and not many. I prayed that she didn&#8217;t notice and that if she did she wouldn&#8217;t tell anyone.
