    Mya is in Girl Scouts as a Junior Scout. This is her 3rd year in Scouts. She recently had a situation arise that she became passionate about and saw a need to help others in a similar situation. Her Elementary school did not have receptacles for children that started their period nor did they have supplies to educate and help those that were at school needing them. She wrote a letter to the school asking for a receptacle for throw aways and it was granted for this next school year. She\u2019d like to take it a step further and as part of her Bronze Award with Girl Scouts, Mya would like to provide at least 75 kits with educational pamphlets to her school to assist with first timers. <\/span><\/p>\n

    The mission of Period OKC is to provide free menstrual products to people in the Oklahoma City metro through product drives and raising awareness of period poverty. We are a small volunteer group and we coordinate donations of pads, tampons and menstrual cups to shelters and local aid organizations. We chose Sox of Love as the recipient of this fundraiser because of their broad outreach in the community. <\/span><\/p>\n
