Thanks for visiting my website! In honor of my Bat Mitzvah this August, I am raising money for period products for the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry. Did you know that in St. Louis, where I live, two-thirds of low-income women couldn’t afford the period products they needed last year? And that period products in Missouri are taxed at a much higher rate than groceries? If you don’t have money to buy food, you probably can’t buy enough period products. Also, you cannot use food assistance benefits to buy period supplies! That’s why I chose to donate period supplies to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, a program of JFS. <\/p>\n
I have a really big goal — to give every menstruating client of the food pantry a 3-month supply of pads and\/or tampons. That means we will need 1,400 kits of pads (or donations to buy those pads) every month! I hope to keep going and to find people who can help fund this project for the longer term, but my first goal is products for one month. Then I will increase my goal. Will you help me?\n<\/p>\n
