Ruby's Red Wash

"...Last week our 16 month old had to go in and have some blood draws done. He bled a ton, and happened to be wearing a white turtleneck at the time. The nurse put the bandaid on him and he ripped it off and he bled all over his brand new shirt. :( Sadness. Well I got him home, and it I saw the Ruby's Red Wash sitting on the bathroom counter, and it struck me to USE IT! It got all the blood out of his turtleneck and left no stains :) It has since, also removed blood out of our cream carpet after someone sustained a toe injury LOL ♥ Good stuff!"

Softcup

I found out about Softcups about 3-4 months ago through a freebie newsletter. Instead was running a free sample promotion and I thought what the heck I've tried everything else (tampons, pads). I was using OB Tampons at the time and wasn't happy with them. I mean they did the job but I always felt dried out, sometimes they leaked and when my period was over I was always dry and it hurt when I had sex with the hubby. I was always looking for something new to try. I started using tampons because I hated the way the pads felt like a diaper and made me feel raw down there.

Softcup is the new thing and I love it! I no longer have to worry about carrying my supplies with me in my purse and I no longer have to worry if I have enough for the month. (There is a box of unused tampons sitting in my bathroom cabinet right now) I actually use less and don't have to buy them every month saving me money then I did before and I finally feel FREE! and I'm no longer risking my health.(TSS) The only con I have found was that there is a little bit of a gross factor but hey its just blood and I usually just sit on the toilet and do it. I will never switch again! I love Softcup! Where was this product when I was younger? :)

Softcup/Reusable Softcup

"A few months ago I decided to try an alternative to tampons which I have used all my life. At 52, I read an article my daughter had given me on toxic shock syndrome and that was enough to try something new.

I tried the Softcup (both the reusable and non-reusable) for an option over tampons. The bonus is that there is no flushing product down the pipes and less in the garbage.

I have to admit, I was concerned with it being messy, it was not that bad. I used a organic light panty liner during the use.

I have now used Softcup for a few cycles and feel there is less to no abdomen cramping while using the Softcup (for me). Nice option!"

Maxim Hygiene Ultra Thin Pantiliners

"Our family does their best to eat and purchase organic products. So when I came across the option online to buy a Natural Cotton pad over chemically produced pads I wanted to try them out.

You have to change a little more often but, over putting chemicals against my skin...it's worth it. The adhesive sticks to your underware without sliding or lifting off. They come individual wrapped to add to your purse. I would recommend this product."

The DivaCup

"I love my Diva Cup. It is great to be able to forget I have my period even when using the restroom! I did have to cut off the tail because it was bothering me. But I have had no issues since. I will never be able to go back to pads or tampons!"

Instead/Softcup

"A little over 10 years ago, I saw a new product at the store called "Instead". Having only had the choice between tampons and pads in the past, I was curious about the little cups. I tried them, and I have been using them ever since. I absolutely love the freedom the SoftCup affords me during my period days. Because the SoftCups keep the fluids up and inside your body, it feels cleaner and there is no odor.
You can use the bathroom without having to change the soft cup because there is no string hanging out. I have a skin sensitivity to tampons and pads that has caused burning, and I do not experience any irritation with SoftCups. Soft cups are easy to use, but take some time getting use to. You can exercise with it in, swim, dance, and just about anything else. You can barely feel it when it's inserted correctly. If you do decide to use it, I recommend trying it for a few cycles before you decide to give up on it. I love it, and prefer not to use anything else.

Important tips to note:

You will need to touch your body to insert and remove the cup. In the beginning this was difficult and a little messy for me, but I got use to it and feel the benefits outweigh the momentary discomfort.

You cannot wear the soft cup for 12 hours on your heavy days. If on your heavy days you would be able to wear a tampon for an hour, usually you can use the soft cup for two hours.

Remember to change your SoftCup. Because you can barely feel the cup when it is inserted, sometimes you forget it's there and that it needs to be changed. If it gets to full, leaks will happen.

While you are getting use to the SoftCup, wear a panty liner to avoid spills."

Be Prepared Period Website/Be Prepared 1st Period Kit

"I received a Be Prepared Period Kit for my reviewing purposes. This is the coolest thing ever! I don't know about you but my husband doesn't jump up and volunteer to get my monthly supplies.  And to be honest even after all these years of doing it, it's not my favorite thing to do either. I'm usually zipping quickly through the isle, hiding it in my cart, then doing the self checkout to avoid having to see the look on the persons face that has to scan my purchases.  Silly I know, but it's just not something I've ever come to feel comfortable with. Now with Be Prepared. we can avoid that whole uncomfortable situation by simply ordering all of our supplies on one easy to use website.  And with the Be Prepared Period Kit you can help that special little girl in your life transition into something that can otherwise be ackward."
