Missed Period Stress

0

Can we call this MPS? :D

I missed my period last month and experienced quite a ride on the emotional roller coaster.  In a full month, there wasn't a day when I didn't feel upset in some way or another.  This had nothing to do with fear of pregnancy, because I wasn't worried about that.  I just felt on edge from the moment my period was SUPPOSED to start, to the moment when it actually started.  I'm on day 2 of this month's cycle, and I feel fine.  Has anyone else experienced this with a missed period?

 Hi there!

Many women tend to feel anxious, and stressed before their period begins - there is a lot of hormonal activity happening. When you get your period this usually goes away because your hormones decline sharply. However, missing a period is a sign that your hormones might be out of whack. In addition to that, when you didn't get your period your hormones continued to build up (rather than decline, which is what happens when you get your period), and this might have created the emotional roller coaster you described.

If you miss periods more than once a year you should definitely see your doctor to get checked out.

Hope this helped a bit! :-)

Happens to me a lot. I have just learned to ride it out and get through it. After a while it gets better, but if you miss too many you might need to see a  doc to make sure its nothing serious.
