When I was first considering a cup, I chose based on the only cup that I had heard through friend recommendation.  I was very pleased with cup menstruelle ( www.cupissima.com ) and it worked great for me. When choosing your cup, keep in mind that they are all relatively similar, so there is no need to over analyze and stress out over the choices. Choose your cups with the tips in mind and chances are you’ll love your cup.

You mentioned having heavy flow, but not how many of what absorbency tampon you use and how often you need to change.  Your "heavy" might be different than mine.  By knowing how heavy your flow is, you can judge how often to empty your cup.  You mentioned being certain the cup is open fully, but did you make sure it had a good suction?  You can insert the cup, pull it down a bit, push it back up and then pull it down again. This helps it form a suction.  Also, it's important to make sure the opening of the cervix is within the cup. Sometimes the opening can sit slightly to the side of the opening of the cup and instead of going into the cup, it dribbles down the side a bit.  With the cup inserted, reach your finger in and run it around the top of the cup, making sure you don't feel the opening of the cervix outside of the cup.  Have you talked to the wonderful people at Diva to see what they advise?  I work for Lunette and know we, and other cup companies, go out of our way to help our customers with any questions/problems they have.  Drop Diva an email and let them know of the problem you're having.  I wish you well and hope you find a solution to your cup issue.

A lot of people who have a low cervix that takes up space in the cup swear by the large Fleurcup.  It's more bell shaped than the Diva so it has more capacity.  The large Lunette is similar in shape but I think loses a little more capacity if your cervix is taking up space and it's quite firm.  I think the Diva is the longest cup out there and a lot of people have trouble with it because of length.  I'd ask around on the menstrual cups livejournal community (menstrual-cups.livejournal.com) and also have a look here http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/.  They've got info on pretty much every menstrual cup out there and are always happy to help.

 Unfortunately it sounds like trial and error.  Before you invest more money, if you're close to your annual gyn exam ask her. She can check both Softcup and  diva to see if they do fit properly. Our anatomy is different & my gyn said to me because of the way things are "layered" inside it might fit well but if, for lack of better words, you're constipated or have vaginal swelling it may not fit right. I love my Softcups but even they leak sometimes. I hope you find a solution. I know I can't go back to tampons. I wear thin pads as back up in heavy days.
